Pastor Pam grew up in Berlin and graduated from Berlin High School. She was baptized, confirmed and married in the Berlin Congregational church, where she was very active in Sunday School, Bell Choir, Choir, and Youth Group. After she married her husband, Gary, in 1980 she moved to East Hartford where they raised a son and a daughter.
Pastor Pam graduated from Yale Divinity School with a Master’s of Divinity in 2000. Prior to going to Yale she worked as a Licensed Physical Therapist in various settings in the greater Hartford area after earning her degree in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College in 1977.
The Reverend Pamela Rose Vollinger was ordained by the United Church of Christ in 2001. She has worked in a number of pastoral roles since that time, including serving at Groton Congregational Church, Fishers Island Union Chapel, Center Congregational Church Manchester, and Enfield Congregational Church.
Pastor Pam has a special interest in the healing ministry of the church and Celtic Spirituality. She is currently completing Mercy By the Sea’s Spiritual Direction Practicum where she is training to become a Spiritual Director. She has done extensive continuing education in Gestalt for Pastoral Care. She enjoys time with family and friends, reading, walking, hiking, bicycling, kayaking, canoeing, and traveling.
