Every Sunday after the children’s message (the Shepherd’s Bag) the children of the Church join together in a one room school house to learn about Jesus through stories, crafts and activities.
Two special services focused on our youngest members happen during the year-The Children’s Pageant the Sunday before Christmas and Children’s Sunday in June. Please join us as we help our littlest disciples celebrate and share their love of the Lord.
The Christian Education Committee also hosts two all Church potluck lunches during the year with activities that are appropriate for the season.
BCC’s Music and Christian Education departments work together support two youth bell choirs and one youth vocal choir.
Each Summer a Vacation Bible School(VBS) week is held in our church. Each year the excitement builds as our young children immerse themselves into the joy of the Summer and growing in God’s Love together. We have the great joy of having our former VBS attendees who come back to join in the fun and help the younger attendees experience the joy they knew when they were “young”.
We invite you to check on our church events page for our Pasta Supper and Auction as well as the other events mentioned above. The Pasta Supper and Auction is our major Christian Education Fundraiser of the year and a whole lot of fun as we all share a meal and follow up with our Auction of goods and services..
Our youth participate in a variety of activities throughout the year which includes collecting canned goods and donations for the food pantry. They also assist our towns social service department in preparing food baskets twice a year.
Silver Lake is our summer church camp at Silver Lake Conference Center in Sharon, CT. Many of our children look forward to spending a week at camp; hiking, swimming, singing, eating, learning, and building relationships with one another and with God.
Some scholarship money is available to member’s children through various budgets and organizations of the church. Summer camps are life giving and faith changing events.
